I'm listening to their stream right now, how long does their morning show stay on the air? It's 11:38am New Orleans time and I'm still hearing the Big Ass Morning Show? Did they stretch their shifts to compensate for a smaller staff after Katrina?______________

Sometimes they do stretch it out, other times they sign off at their regular time. But I love that morning show, I think they'd do good in syndication. BAM!!!

They have alot of energy and for the most part I enjoy listening to 'em but it's difficult for me to listen to them at times because they'll all talk at one time. Also, I get the impression they put people on the air live without a delay because they keep saying "HOT 104.5 watch your mouth" before they put a listener on. That's a big risk they're taking with the license.

But they seem to have alot of passion for what they do and for their city, that DEFINITELY comes through.______________

They may or may not take calls live. Either way, saying things like "watch your mouth" gives the impression of it being live. It also is a form of branding. You know of them to say "hot 104.5 watch your mouth" - that's branding. You KNOW who says that... I like it!

Unfortunately for X-104 they are no longer a terrestrial FM station. They lost their low-wattage power when a Hot A/C from Covington, also on 104.5, was granted an increase in its signal.

Seattle is a hotbed for cool and professional sounding non-commercial FM stations. C-89.5 is a Dance station based out of Nathan Hale Highschool, while I-91 is a CHR/Pop station out of Tacoma. Both have far better signals and coverage areas then X-104 ever had.

No, X104 is alive and well, still broadcasting at 104.5 Mhz on Mercer Island (near Seattle). Rumor has it they will survive as an on-air station somewhere else on the Seattle FM dial. But that is just rumor.

You could add Galaxy 102.2 Birmingham to the UK section since it's different to the other Galaxy stations and pretty close to US Rhythmic stations

I actually took it off the list a couple of months back as it's now sounding a bit more like the other Galaxy stations. During nights and Overnights they syndicate what airs on the other Galaxy stations, where the playlist is much more balanced between Dance and R&B. Even their daytime playlist is now more likely to feature a couple of Pop and Dance records an hour.
