Wow ! New slogan, new imaging, expanded playlist.. All good. I like it !! Like the new imaging, I always thought the imaging was horrible when Nassau took over. I know the voice they used was on all their branded classic rock outlets, and the guy sounded like he was vomiting every time he said "101.5 The Fox".

Good move, way to stand out better above the 5 station portfolio in Rutland they seem to succeed quite well. I'd lose the 101.5 The Fox, 101 The Fox flowed a lot smoother and is easier to say. They do have a southern signal (or two) that get no mentions outside the legal ID. This is the signal once known in broadcasting land as "Oy Vay" none other than 100.7 in Wilmington.

Good move, and good luck, the station sounds great so far !
 
Haven't listend in a while, but I will make sure to check it out...No doubt a play to overtake the crippled Pamal stations...who will soon be all but dead.
 
I'm sold on it. Of course by going younger and broader, this does leave a slight crack in the door for one of the five other stations in the market to explore taking up Classic Rock, but then again, I highly doubt that will happen.
 
I am wondering if a radio station will ever have the balls to go head on with WWLR. we are 1/2 rock LOL... each Dj is different and so is each Director at our station who controlls our automation.

After DAG's comments, I took a serious listen to 101 the Fox...there seems to be a new life pumped into the station...even the jocks sound excited again! While the playlist has changed ever-so-slightly...the imaging and new voice sounds younger and fresh and the station sounds better....bettter mixing etc... Hopefully the playlist will get a little edgier with some more classic "hard" rock in the mix. I think that will happen.

Looks like the Fox will become a serious player now...for the Rutland County dollars that Pamal relies on...here comes the Fox!
 
I'll admit I like it.. Sounds like the Fox has reclaimed it's edge that it had when the station launched in 2000. I'm glad that they do not sound like a generic blah blah blah classic rock station with no moxie anymore. I wonder if the same was done to Q106 ? Can't overly hear them that well, nor have I dropped in on their stream. It's good to hear the on air people exude a bit more personality than before. How mnay times can you say, Coming up next, a Music Marathon, and we'll have some Zeppelin to kick things off next on Classic Rock 101.5 The Fox". Just to make a disclaimer, we love Zeppelin ! Happy to see the edge back where it belongs on that station. They've elavated themselves back to relevant again in my book (for all that matters !)

I believe the Fox has been able to thrive very well economically overall, and they should be oh so lucky to what radio competition they are competing with right now ! :D

They will probably have theirs up and running quicker than the new Z 97...
 
Station sound good but will it make that much of a difference to increase the ratings for little old Rutland? Lets face it, in today’s radio isn’t that what it’s truly about. It took a few days for the website to get under construction after the change, someone really missed on that one!!! :eek:
 
In Rutland, the Fox has a lot of ground to make up! for sure, they will do that with the new sound and the renewed excitement from the air staff...not to mention Pamal imploding around them. Look for Fox to move up in Rutland County...probably overtake Z and JJR...Cat will take a couple of books.
 
The only 'ratings' that matter are the ones on the cash register, and at the bottom of a sales report, and an avails report.. The Fox will do fine.
 
It's nice to hear somebody say something GOOD about a station for a change! ;D

Just when you thought all was lost... someone got a wild hair up their butt and decided they weren't going to go out without a fight! :)
 
And yes, The Fox does stream, and they are doing it up on "myspace".. Someone over there, whether in Rutland or in "Joisey" is with the program. Seems like most of Nassau's major stations are streaming as well.. Makes sense..

Do mine ears deceive me, or are a lot of someones actually giving PROPS to a NASSAU station? Wow! Maybe they do know what they're doing, just taking their time getting there? Or is this a fluke?

What's your opinion? I'm curious if the management shakeup isn't exactly what Nassau needed to get the ball rolling in the right direction, and if you agree.
 
I think if you're working for Nassau, and out of the line of fire in places such as Rutland or Newport, and the stations are billing well.. Those are the places to be.. If every Nassau station had the competition like they have in the Rutland area, Nassua would be in a much better financial position ! :eek:
 
The real props for the format change and the great sound should go to the local PD there. She was the one who pushed this through and knows what she is doing. She should be in a larger market.
 
Very well put Mr. DUBbonet! My big girlfriend at cc and I couldn't agree with you more! This was most likely an idea proposed, and backed up by the local staff under the great leadership of their local pd. She knows what she is doin' and doesn't let the liner-card 20 song stiff marathons of the well-done programmers destroy the best of her listeners! Bout time, I say! :-* Oh, how's the weather up there? The boys and I are gettin' ready for an April snowstorm up here on the farm in Sharon! HA! That being said, it's time to get back to my duties out in the barn! Yee Haw!! You darlin' little cow pokes!

I wonder if a few radio stations in Maine and New Hampshire will follow THE FOX and start listening to their programming a little more closely?

A few changes MIGHT make a difference when it comes to an increase in their audience numbers...not to mention their annual advertising revenue. ::)
