Video: 1965 WGN telecast of Cubs/Reds game—in color!

WGN-9 Chicago got it's first color mobile unit around 1959 or so.

I suspect it was rented out quite a bit during the 1960's when WGN wasn't using it.

In fact, I believe NBC leased it to cover the 1959 World Series games played at old Comiskey Park in Chicago (I believe NBC had just one color remote van of its own at the time and I think it was used for the games in Los Angeles)

There was also a color spot from Allstate Insurance, and I believe the legendary Allstate spokesman Ed Reimers appeared in it.

I would think that as late as 1965, quite a few Cubs (and White Sox) away games telecast by WGN-9 were still in black-and-white, but within a year or two, all the away games were in color.
