Video of WMT-TV switching from black and white to color broadcasts goes viral

The video is an old WMT-TV broadcast showing the moment the station went from black and white to color. In the 80's the television station switched names from WMT-TV to KGAN-TV.

Legendary anchor Bob Bruner delivered the news in color for the first time.

The video was posted on Reddit on Tuesday and has received thousands of views and comments.

The original broadcast was from April 14, 1967. Next Thursday will mark 55 years since the switch to color.

I shared the WRC-TV one from 1958 on the same subreddit where Dwight D. Eisenhower was part of the dedication ceremony. Its the earliest B&W to color switch videotape in existence.

Full color those few times I received them via e-skip here in central Connecticut! Of course that was the early 90s or so.
