that is so stupid. his account is cancelled. his radio still works. big deal. it takes a several days for the deactivation signal to hit the radio. i have a skyfi that i cancelled three years ago. it still works! but the radio is cancelled. this is no smoking gun. its more like a drunk smoking pot!
well they do until the activation signal reaches the radio. i have 3 dead radios. all 3 still working. cancelled years ago. skyfi, skyfi 2 (father in laws now) and a roady xt thet i just got back from a friend that never hooked it up. all 3 still work. but i am not being charged for them. plus there is a free preview going on now on xm.
This is a great example of why digital distribution for audio is so miserable.
Imagine if every radio had to be registered with every transmitter for it to work.
Seems like if you have the radios unpowered when the deactivate codes are sent, the deactivate doesn't happen.
It's amazing to me that such an open-ended "security" is used.
But this video makes it seem like XM is a virus you can't shake.
I bet they drive this poor guy nuts, and continue to market strongly to him and others who "defect".
How much you wanna bet they still bill him for service?
