I feel bad for the Villanova fans that aren't able to hear the men's basketball and football games on regular radio this season, thanks to the games being on 1480 AM, which is unlistenable in the whole region, especially at night. For decades, listeners in the whole Philadelphia region were able to hear the Villanova football and men's basketball games on stations everyone can get. I wonder why did this change this season. Beasley was not smart in walking out on villanova. basketball games last season was on 95.7 and football on WWDB 860, Yes I know games on a FM music station (exception of Flyers games being on WMMR due to sixers on 97.5 at the same time ) is not a good idea but given the state of AM radio in this market, someday, it will have to be the norm. Play by play sports will have to air on the FM music stations in town. and If Iheart is smart, they should put Villanova games on 104.5 and or 106.1 FM so everyone in the region can hear the games. AM is dying.
