Vimeo is thriving as the anti-YouTube. Here's the CEO's plan for the future

https://www.cnn.com/2019/06/26/media/vimeo-anjali-sud/index.html

New York (CNN Business)Vimeo CEO Anjali Sud really wants people to know that the online video company is no longer a competitor to YouTube.

"Today we do not view YouTube as a competitor. We really think of ourselves as a software-as-a-services company like a Slack, like a Dropbox, like a Zoom," Sud said. The three publicly traded business software companies offer storage and collaboration tools for businesses.
Sud acknowledged that for most of the company's history, Vimeo was a "viewing destination" like YouTube.
"We were sort of the more indie, higher end, more artistic version of YouTube," she said. "That's probably how most people think of Vimeo," Sud said in a recent interview with CNN Business.

But the company, which was founded in 2004 and bought by internet conglomerate IAC (IAC) in 2006, is now taking advantage of the explosive growth in digital video through its video sharing, live event streaming, marketing and analytics tools.
In 2017, the company abandoned plans to start its own subscription video on demand service and pivoted away from original content.
The challenge for Vimeo is getting potential customers to understand its business model.

Part of this is that vimeo is trying to cater to small businesses with its new video marketing strategy.

Given the legal scrutiny that YouTube is under, with all the political use of the platform, they're better off aiming for other markets.

The last thing they want is for banned political groups to start using their service. That's not "high end" or "artistic."

I've been over on Vimeo for years.Started to move my stuff"All none political stuff" over there when YT got on my case for copyright BS.Also mirrored stuff on Bitchute.Screw YT.

Vimeo today introduced Vimeo Enterprise, a group of tools and services that large organizations can use to manage and share live and on-demand video content.

Vimeo Enterprise adds several new features to its platform, including support for single-sign-on to allow for protected content and account access through SSO authentication, password protection, domain white-listing, embedded restrictions and private workspaces.

The company will also allow Enterprise customers to develop and launch unlimited white-label video content sites for secure, branded videos. Enterprise customers will also be able to measure employee engagement with user-level analytics to see how they’re viewing and interacting with content.

An Update.
