I live in Michigan and was on vacation in South Florida last week. While I was down there, I had a chance to explore Miami's radio market. I was very impressed... mostly with Easy 93.1 and 93.9 MIA. Where I live in Michigan (Grand Rapids), we don't have a Soft AC station at all so it's refreshing to hear Soft AC favorites on the radio ... not to mention that it's only sprinkling in a few Christmas songs rather than 24/7 Christmas music. The station reminds me so much of the old 93.1 WLTI that Detroit had from 1985 to 1996. The same music on the same frequency.
Also, 93.9 is a great station. Also very refreshing to hear a Rhythmic AC sound on the radio. (I don't think any radio market in Michigan has Rhythmic AC anymore.) Great songs on that station not heard anywhere else on the dial.
It was very interesting to listen to 94.9. The TVRadioWorld website referred to that as "Hurban" station. I loved the fact that you have some English-language CHR mixed with Spanish-language hits.
I also like CHR music and liked the fact that Miami has a mainstream CHR as well as a rhythmic CHR.
I hope the next time I visit Miami (probably not for at least 5 or 10 years) the radio market sounds as good then as it does now!
