Heard but not seen, she was memorable as the voice of Howard's mom.

Carol Ann Susi, actress on 'The Big Bang Theory,' dies at 62

Actress Carol Ann Susi, best known for her recurring role as Mrs. Wolowitz on CBS’ “The Big Bang Theory,” has died, her agent, Pam Ellis-Evenas, confirmed to the Los Angeles Times

Susi died Tuesday morning in Los Angeles after a "brief battle with an aggressive cancer," Ellis-Evenas said. She was 62.

Susi was in numerous TV shows through her career, including roles in “The Night Stalker,” “Cheers,” “Doogie Howser, M.D.,” “Mad About You,” “Just Shoot Me” and “Seinfeld.”

Two ways to handle this. They could recast the role. I'm guessing someone could be found who might be almost as good, but can anyone really do the role justice?

But what often happens is they give the cast a chance to really show what they are capable of as they cope with a death.

They are now caught between a rock and hard place having built up the Stuart-mother fiasco to new heights. Perhaps it would just be better to give Melissa Rauch another contract to do the mother's voice. Hers is almost indistinguishable as is.

Melissa Rauch does that voice spot on, that's true. But the show could use a good story arc like the death of Howard's mother. Unpredictable things happen in life. Sad way to develop a story arc, though.

I don't think so. If it was Bernadette's mother it might be believable. And there is more potential for Stuart and Howard's mom. Though "The Millers" has a similar situation with Nathan's mom and Sean Hayes.

The whole Howard's mom and Stuart thing was a jump the shark moment on BBT. It was one of the things that turned me off to the show.

If this is a common reaction, perhaps killing her off is best.

But I haven't heard. It wasn't something that I liked. If they drop it, I've still got Sean Hayes and Nathan's mom.

We really have not heard much from Howie's mom lately. They tried a few episodes focused on the Howie-Mom-Stuart triangle but they seem to have dropped that line. I like the Stuart character and I hope they come up with something else for him. Much as I like the show, I think there are some characters they discarded peremptorily and unwisely - especially Leslie Winkle, whom Leonard SHOULD end up with.

I disagree with that but it's a shame they took Leslie off. She was on "Bad Teacher", but I didn't like her there.

Sean Hayes on "The Millers" is growing old fast. Maybe dropping the Howie-Mom-Stuart triangle wouldn't be so bad.

Wasn't Sara Gilbert (Leslie Winkle) also on The View at the same time she was on BBT and about to be on Bad Teacher? I think she might have had too many irons in the fire at that time to remain on BBT although I agree she should have stayed. She was a much more believable fit for Leonard than the "hot chick" they keep trying to pair him up with which doesn't really seem to work from either perspective. Also, I think that was about the time she came out of the closet so the BBT producers might have guessed their audience wouldn't accept her character as a love-mate for Leonard.

Sara Gilbert is a host, and executive producer of The Talk on CBS - a bit of a copy of The View, as even the title suggests.

Penny and Leonard together has to continue. That ship has sailed. But I wish Penny would grow back her long hair.

Oh, come on. Smart guy; dumb bimbo. PhD; Cheesecake Factory waitress. How long do you think those two would last in reality as a couple?

Final Episode:
Leonard wakes up and it's the morning after Penny moved into the building and it was all a dream.

When it came out they were fake, the producers should have fired Kaley. Besides, go back and look at season one episodes. She's really not holding up well.

I admit she's not as pretty as she once was, though she still looks hot when she's dressed up.

This is weird. There's a web site with news articles and trivia questions, and a local newspaper's TV section can include any of these. Maybe the reason for this is the deadline for printing these TV sections. The Charlotte Observer, which I subscribe to, gets its articles and other information from some other source, but four newspapers I read at libraries use the other source. I checked the latest trivia questions since none of these papers print all of the trivia questions, and in fact two of them have replaced those, one with ads and one with a word search puzzle.

Someone wanted to know if the actress playing Bernadette also did the voice of Howard's mother because they sound so much alike (something I don't agree with). The answer described the career of the actress who did Howard's mother's voice but said nothing about her death. I would think there had been plenty of time before this was put online, but maybe it was done beforehand to make the question available to the newspapers.

Kaley had her boob job when she was 18 - over ten years ago and while starring on "8 Rules" - well before BBT.

But she just came out of the closet with it.

And she just married a jock - the kind of guy Penny dated in the early seasons. Welcome to reality.

Not true. She admitted long ago she had a boob job and "it was the best thing I ever did" according to reports in the trades. Those of us who watched "8 Rules" could tell immediately something was different because she had been on the skinny side since starting that role.

Kaley married a professional tennis player Dec 31 of 2013, almost one year ago. Not sure what that has to do with a boob job that took place almost ten years ago. Also not sure how much of a jock her husband is since he hasn't reportedly competed since they began dating (he was nursing an injury when they met) six months before they married.

I do, but so many actresses that are older still look great. And she can. It's just sometimes she doesn't.

She doesn't look like a hot teenager any longer but that is completely natural since she is almost 30 and now a mature woman. The show used to have her dressed as a teen hottie but not so much any longer and she isn't so much of a dumb blonde character either.
