Voice Tracking During Drive Times ON WDAS 1480/106.1 WISX HD-2/ WDASAM.com

I heard Butterball yesterday after a Jerry Butler song talking about how he was named the Ice Man. This morning I heard another voice tracking of a different DJ. Also Lisa Fairfax and Laura Tortella "Total Traffic" on both AM & PM both seem the identical report on 106.1 WISX HD1

Bobby Holiday is on mornings, Butter in the pm. But I'm not sure it's V/T. It actually sounds live.

i have to admit it might be live because they didn't seem scripted, in fact the time I heard Butterball he didn't even mention his name. I don't remember Bobby Holiday.

I don't think I have ever heard Bobby before. But i don't think the use of that last name is coincidence. Harvey was big on that station during the 70's.

I heard Butter ID a song just before 1 PM today. Sounded live to me but anytime Butter is on the air in any format is a good thing. Putting more live voices on the air is going to give the station that local feel. So far, so good!

Any jock that goes by "The Ice Man" sounds like a typical Premium Choice jock. Of course, if the jock was actually providing local content, well, then, all bets are off.

"I heard Butterball yesterday after a Jerry Butler song talking about how he was named the Ice Man"

Jerry Butler (the artist) was nicknamed "The Ice Man" ... not the jock.

Thanks Tom, was going to point that out. By the way the jocks are live "Butter" is on from 12 to 6PM. Bobby Holliday 6 to 12 noon. Long air shift. I am sure Butter is working on other things at that time.

The guy who wrote that Butterball was named the Ice Man was probably not live. Maybe he was "post-tracked" :)

During the early '70 wasn't there a dj named Perry Johnson (he called himself the Dr.) on WDAS in the evening (7-11, 8-12)

Yes. He even redid his live rap over Bohannon's "Let's Start The Dance" as a hit remake called "Let's Start II Dance Again"

Listening to the station, it is pretty obvious the station is live from 6am to 6pm. They update Facebook, make comments on the postings, take calls etc.

Bobby Holiday is live til 11am. V/T 11-NOON

ButterBall is tracked NOON TO 6P.

WDAS am doesn't sound half bad...it's a work in progress.
i've heard some glitches..two Aretha songs in 10 mins..etc.
They could have something cool if they add some real PHILLY OLDIES and not follow the textbook AND PROMOTE IT!!!

i picked it up in one afternoon driving from DC to Baltimore a few days ago..signal was weak but not bad. sounds great on my Iphone.

WDAS-FM also voice tracks during Butter's Oldies Show, even when they have other jocks covering for him. Just this past sunday [ 1-29-12 ], they accidently played a voice track by Patty Jackson from a 2 or 3 year old easter broadcast.
