WAAO-FM ANDALUSIA SELLS FOR $1,245,000.00

Congratulations to the Williams! Good operators with good local service to the community. Nothing magical, just good hard work.

I used to know the area very well but I haven't been to Andalusia or Opp in 10 years, so I don't know what's going on Covington county. How could this station be worth so much?

In a somewhat related question, does anyone know the status of WAMI-AM's move from Opp to Utah and WAMI-FM's upgrade to 100kw? Could that million dollar price have anything to do with the area loosing 2 of its local commercial stations?

Wow! That's twice the price of the old Andalusia station, WWSF, sold for just over a decade ago and that station
covered Destin and FWB reasonably well. That's a crazy price to pay. How they'll pay that note is beyond me.
I wonder how much the Williams invested and made before the sale? Whew! Tough act to follow!

the seller just hopes the buyer makes the note(2 of them) payments. But if it goes south,he;ll get the station back.Alot can happen during a note time span.

Spells disaster. Not a good move. Like one of my accoutants said "there's red flags all over the place."
I didn't read all the terms, but the seller still owes the taxes on the sale price, even if he just steps back
in (to a disaster, if it tanks....) So, he'll be paying 20% on the sell price (minus the original cost, etc.)
I go stuck twice doing this. I was not sharp enough to only do it once and learn. I have also been known
to give them their money back...even brighter. How much did they get upfront? I will them the best.
This is a tough nut. Wow. Wow.
