WAGX 101.3 Manchester, Ohio and WLXX 101.5 Richmond, Kentucky

This is an Ohio and Kentucky Post, really.

Something interesting is going on. WAGX 101.3 the first adjacent channel licensed to Manchester, Ohio has recently gone dark as well. WAGX would have had to protect 101.5 WLXX and vice versa. Some significant musical chairs could be in the process of happening or maybe nothing at all.

Here is a link to the Story about WLXX 101.5 Richmond, Kentucky

No matter what, best of luck to everyone involved and I hope it ends up being great for local radio!

I wouldn't read too much into it. Told it is likely just a "coincidence".
That's too bad. Without really studying it much, it appears the direction WLXX needs to move or maximize to have a better signal over Lexington would be the area that is now freed up by WAGX going away. Hate to see them both as a casualty.

WAGX isn't just off the air, its license was returned and cancelled last week. I think that precludes "significant musical chairs."

The cancellation is listed as dismissed, and i cant find a letter or details stating while it was cancelled to begin with

Total Media out of Jackson picked this license up for a good price and put it back on air 5/1. I suspect given the low purchase price they likely had to repair or replace equipment and build a studio (probably running it vias internet from Jackson or Portsmouth).
