Walking from Boston to Los Angeles to support pirate radio!

That website said the following when I looked this morning.

"THE WALK FOR POWER HAS BEEN POSTPONED DUE TO POOR WEATHER.

WATCH THIS PAGE FOR UPDATED INFO WITH NEW DATE AND TIME. I LOOK FORWARD TO SEEING YOU THEN."

K~

More power to him I say! :)

Still says that it is postponed due to inclement weather. Hell, I wonder what He'll do when it rains on him during his "walk"? He should just start

...won't happen. That would require actual work/effort.
The only place this pirate should be walking is walking the plank into shark i nfested waters.
Suck it up, act like a man, and pay your fine. No personal checks - cash or cashier's check only...

I could think of a lot better reasons to make a coast-to-coast walk... AIDS or cancer research, for one...
OK, but this is a radio board .

Actually the walk was to support the government licensing of more LPFM and community radio stations, but don't let the facts deter your mockery.

Actually, the "walk" was a pathetic attempt to legitimatize
his illegal activities, but don't let the facts deter your
politically-correct drivel... After all is said and done, he wouldn't
even walk across Mattapan, much less across the country...
There is, indeed, no honor among thieves...

While Touch may itself be illegal, the stated purpose and intent of the march and many of its supporters is to raise interest and attention to LPFM and community radio legislation. And people have every right to try and change those laws, even if those of you in conglomerates disagree.

Conglomerates have nothing to do with anything here.
Illegal is ILLEGAL. Period. Plain and simple. If "the people"
want to change the laws, those people need to be willing to pay the price -
be it fines, jail time, or both. "Community radio" is a wonderful buzz word,
that, essentially, means nothing. It compares to "affordable housing". In
actual fact, there is no such thing in either case - just somebody else
who actually pays the bills...

Sorry, Jimmy. Your screen name/reference points to you not being a broadcast
professional, who understands the broadcast business. If your livelihood was on
the line, maybe then you would have a clue...

WLYN:

Touch FM's legality is not the point here. The point is the march. The march is to raise awareness for LPFM and community radio legislation. Which should, and likely will be increased and more LPFMs will be coming on the air. LPFMs which provide programming towards niche communities which full power signals either cannot feasibly or will not serve.

Sorry, WLYN, your assessment of my screen name means less than nada. As someone whose livelihood does in fact, depend on licensed, legal broadcasting enterprises, I do have a clue. But I refuse to worry or be insecure in my talents simply because people want 100 watt "community" radio stations legalized. I'll continue to do my best and not fear competition. In fact, I'll support those who wish to change the laws to be able to legally broadcast, because in the end, I believe the airwaves are ultimately owned by the public and they should, in a free country, have as much access to them as possible.

Maybe, then, a call to your supposed broadcast employer would be in order...
Sorry, Jimmy, dude. Your "argument" doesn't wash. Take all of your concerns on
the "needs not being met" - I bet that you could verbalize all of them in ten minutes,
or less, of airtime. Then where would you be? If you have such strong convictions,
then identify yourself publicly. I'm betting that you won't do so. So much
for the strength of one's convictions...
