wall am and fm middletown late 60's-full service radio

i left the area by 1972, so cousin brucie days of ownership of wall is an unkown to me. during 68' and 69' the station ran rock with a live crew. coverage at night when they went to 250 watts on am was about a 10 miles radius. i had no fm radio in the car at that time. at that time i did not know any one who had a fm radio in their car. i knew a fellow driver that had a below the dash 45 rpm record player. to this day i wonder how zenith designed this device to operate with out a skip while the vehicle was in motion.

i broadcast on wall a show along with other students that centered around orange county community college-occc. on halloween of 69' we staged a broadcast of the play of the war of the worlds. in november of 69', i went to the vietnam war protest in washington, dc as a reporter for the station. the students of occc attended the protest. audio was sent from my dc reporting via a phone booth that was located near the lincoln memorial.

for those not around in that era, that is what local radio was like before the days of automation.

thanks bucky. i will have to listen. middletown was just featured in a major newspaper as a city where gangs own the streets. i would like to hear the locals reaction to that story.

Mark does a great job for his morning show...looking forward to the 70th Anniversary coming up in August.

Have you heard Mark West's show on WALL? He brokers the morning show, and does a live community oriented show.
