Want To Say Thanks To These People

Alexander Broadcasting, Bluewater Broadcasting, Moody Radio South, WLBF Montgomery, WDJC Birmingham and Redeemer Radio from Olivebridge New York.  Those names are my biggest influences right now and it's because of their fine example, I want to get back into radio again.  I'm in awe over the way those outlets present themselves.  They do things that keep me coming back for more of their presentations. Hope to have my LPFM dream in the works by years end.  I'm still working on making it a reality.  I know some on here will say that Selma Alabama isn't big enough to have an Adult oriented CCM radio station but I'm willing to take a risk and run with this idea.  Since Moody, AFR and WLBF Montgomery do the talk thing very well, it would be wise for me to do all music all the time.  That's my game plan.  I'm so ready to bring a much needed jolt to this radio dial.  Not trying to compete with anyone else here.  Want to reach out to a voiceless audience, that doesn't already have one.  Hence my reason for wanting to pursue this LPFM radio station.  I'm not doing this to make money, to become an instant celebrity or a Mr. it guy.  Doing this to provide the CCM fans with their own radio station. I'm also doing this to help revive my hometown and bring some new life into it.  Tired of all the shootings, crime, stealing and other assorted evils we're dealing with on a regular basis.  I believe this new LPFM radio station would help put a dent into these things, if my musical playlist is right and I can market this station correctly.  I'm not expecting to have success out the box but I plan on working hard and doing everything I can to stay afloat, should this dream actually work out and come into being.

nice idea. you are going to have a link so that those of us who can't get you over air can listen?

greatest of luck in your journey.

Plan on doing that, once I get things up and running.

R.D.P. <>< (Dan)

P.S. And yes I'm going to borrow an old slogan WDJC Birmingham used in the early 2000s, after dropping their non-musical elements: All Music, All Jesus, All The Time.

How many of these are you going to waste our time with? We get it...yay Bluewater, go get 'em Alexander, and Lord, send a revival small FM license. You've only been yammering about it forever.

Until you have a stick in the ground to be proud of, maybe you oughta can it. I don't care if that comes off as mean because you're definitely coming off as annoying.

Don't look back, R.D.P. You never know what you can truly accomplish, until you at least try!

* Words of advice, I don't apply to my life, of course. Well, actually, I try!

Go Get 'em, RDP! Don't let anyone crush your dreams...just because you have some. :)

It's true that my project isn't on the air yet.

I'm now trying to get something going with it.

Hope to begin that process, by years end.

It may take a while to get the thing going but with God's help I can do this.

Besides, it took time and work to establish my writing, mission and grass career.

Had to work my way up from nothing in all those areas.

Same can be said for this radio project.

It may be a dream now but later on it might become something real and exciting.

Scratch all those thoughts I wanted to put down.

I know what this city has a need for.

Not going to let anyone keep me from pursuing it.

you are just as annoying in your "holier than thou" attitude. what "stick" do you have in the ground, sir? an original thought even?

Thanks for the responses everyone reading.

Some other issues I want to address, before I move on and keep at it.

When people come to your truck and steal some lawn equipment from it, then something is wrong indeed.

When a great discount store like Fred's is leaving because of too much stealing, then something isn't right.

When you have people shooting others and then themselves, then you know it's time to fight back.

Finally when you see people moving out, then it's time to take some real action.

I'm tired of all the mess this community is experiencing.

Want to help revive this community and get it back on the right track.

Hence the reasons for me pursuing this LPFM radio station.

Dan, don't give up on your broadcast aspirations. Many small radio stations have started off as an idea, a dream, a mission. As long as you persevere you have a chance. Honestly speaking, it may be an uphill fight, but if it is meant to be - then it will happen. You and I both know that ALL things work together for good ;)

Yeah, and so does everyone who's familiar with Selma: More regional jobs and economic opportunity, better schools, a better educated and engaged populace that participates in/collaborates with local government, and the rapid death of the same old racial/political/class divisions preventing those things from happening.

An low-level Air1 imitator? Pretty low on the list, relatively speaking.

Except you don't have until the end of the year: The next LPFM filing window starts October 15th. And from what you've put out, you haven't done a fraction of the things a blind man has done to make anything really happen.

...and Nate, you're coming off as being a jerk. Leave the guy alone. What have you done?

I'm not the one constantly posting about my 'dreams' while doing nothing productive to actually see them become reality. (That's the risk of being so public about such things--some might have the gall to remember and hold subjects accountable.)

It's okay if others want to continue with the cute kitten treatment with Presley's shtick, but I'm not. He's not innocent, frail, or particularly helpless, he's an adult.

I'm a 42 year old person now.  Trying to make a return to this business.  Loved the time I spent in it.  Still have the radio bug in me.  Want to speak again and play a wonderful mix of positive music for my hometown.  I want to help change things here.  The only way things will get better, is for ordinary joes like me, to get off our tail and do something.  I know that starting up a radio station is hard work and takes time.  I'm willing to put all my energy into this.  This is something I want to do. Not ashamed to say it.  Working on getting things going.  Been talking with people off site and they're trying to help me out.  Not even going to let anyone drag me down.  Gotta keep the faith and move on.  The conditions of my hometown warrant the need for this LPFM radio station.  Now if anyone has issues with these thoughts, then too bad.  Just telling it like it is.  To everyone that's helping me out, thanks for doing it.  I appreciate it.

Have a nice day and stay strong!

P.S. Thanks to Mr. Gower for your kind words too.  I appreciate it.

then why post on it at all except to unload vitriol? what does it hurt YOU if he spews all over these pages? is it taking money from your wallet? is it making the milk in your fridge sour? I see nothing that he is doing that should upset you to the point that you spew hatred toward him. don't read anything he posts if that is your want. your continued anger and hatred does not harm him, it harms you in both public view and personal physical health.

"he's an adult", try being one yourself and keep your decided personal hatred to yourself.

Bravo, Duncan, bravo.

Would you like a pecan sandie or a Nutter Butter?
