war between WCOJ and City of Coatesville

T

The Famous Mr. Ted

Guest
Someone posted a phony call-in contest notice on an internet bulletin board and Robert Hensen's afternoon radio show was bombarded with calls. Hensen suggested it may be someone on City Council, taking revenge for critical comments he made about the city.

Now there is talk about a lawsuit. Sound like things are getting uglier.

What bulletin board? I'm sure many of us would like to check it out. (Hoping this isn't a bash Henson Thread.)

I don't know. I listened to the show for 20 minutes and I don't remember him giving the URL.

Hensen said he received a telephone call and someone threatened to sue him (the station?). He then played the sound of a crying baby, and told the person, in so many words, to stop whining, and to go ahead and file the suit.

If all these posts about WCOJ are a cheap way to build-up talk in the radio community for a station that no one listens to (and quite frankly, no one would know even exists if it wasn't for the new threads every week here), it's pretty freakin' lame.

A talk show hosts puts someone on the air and then threatens to sue him on the air? What's that, market #300 stuff? That's what the dump button is for, unless no one is call you to fill the airtime.

Actually, if it is that, it's working pretty freakin' well. (I don't think that is the case.)

I'd like to know what they're threatening to sue for. Mr. Ted? (By the way, you spell Hensen's name exactly the same way a "famous" previous Henson basher did.)

My company once advertised on WCOJ a few years back, but I have no affiliation with this statiopn or Hensen.

Hensen didn't say what the suit would be. If he did I didn't hear about it.

"Hensen" is the right spelling. See here, second to last paragraph. http://www.wcoj.com/index.php?page=16

I am wrong and you are right. Henson's name is misspelled on the computer corner page!
