Was Howie's Radio Hall of Fame election a lucky break?

http://www.savewrko.com

A reader to Brian Maloney's blog noticed a change at the Radio Hall of Fame
site. This year, the general public was invited to cast votes without having to
join--and it became a huge popularity contest. Howie's fans stuffed the ballot
box and he won in his category--but now it's possible the RHoF is having
second thoughts about this new policy. They may re-evaluate it. Howie may have
been lucky, getting "in" during a year where this "anyone* can vote" policy
got a tryout!

I wasn't aware of the change. If they're planning on re-naming the venue the "Listener's Hall of Fame", so be it.

It it is to remain a true Hall of Fame, as it is a well-respected organization in the business, and it's honoree roll has real credibility, better for them to re-embrace the original voting rules asap.

Just imagine if the Baseball Hall of Fame opened it's voting to we mere fans?

Chaos.

Fee or free, it's still a popularity contest.

Howie is the Sarah Pailin of radio.

If you heard Laura Ingraham's praise of the governin', huntin', fishin', corruption reducin',
pro life, anti gay marriage, Alaska governor (in some ways not much different from the
Obama worship Keith Olbermann's being doing), then you'd consider that to be a compliment
for Howie...
