As I got ready to watch American Idol tonight I heard some old tunes that I remember playing on Mix-fm on y96 in Terre Haute. Sounds like a stunt to a different format to me. The hole in the market would be AC or Hip-Hop, and I doubt the latter. Maybe Midwest Clubber will get his dance station back.

Say it isn't so!!! I hope they pump the dance but I'm not holding my breath! Matt, you know how much I would love that but...AC would be the logical pick for Haute. How are things going Mr. Luecking? I hope well. If Y goes dance, you should get back in that building :)

Wouldnt do me any good if 95.9 went Dance. I cant pick that station up at my house, I get the Indianapolis Oldies station instead. The only Terre Haute stations I get here are 99.9 100.7, and 102.7

That certainly was the year of the Mix. Great year! Keep us posted here. I can sometimes pick up Y-96 here in Tuscola but this morning ESPN radio came through much stronger from Clinton, IL WHOW. I thought I heard "Call Me Al" Paul Simon. I also thought I heard some late 70s classic rock song which sounded typical of Y-96 music. I hope they are playing stuff like Gina G and Crystal Waters. Keep me posted. Thanks.

DANCE MUSIC? GASP!!!!!!! Crystal Waters, Gina G, Scat Mann, Max-A-Million ohhh I could go on! 1996 The Year of The Mix is where I get part of my inspiration for our 90's show that I host on my station over here in Champaign. Of course Champaign did not have a station at the time (until Q96) that bumped the dance hits so some of this stuff is new to the listeners but they love it! (At least the ones that call!)

THE BEAT OF THE 90'S LIVE ON (at least here on Q96)! May the old Mix-FM R.I.P. because if you listen to it now you would never guess it was a unique bumpin' CHR just a few short years ago. "Kudos" to the old Mix staff from the mid 90's (Beau Richards and company) through 2005 (Matt Leucking and staff) that created radio magic over at 824 South Third Street.

BTW I'm having a very hard time even picking up Mix-fm in Tuscola (where I to happen to live!) What is the deal...just a couple of years ago it came in stereo!
