A non-profit but it has WAY too many translators. Goldilocks mentioned earlier (in another thread) that K-LOVE should be moved to satellite radio so that all of America can hear it without having the 3-4 translator mess in some markets. I think that's a good idea...

KGHO is operated from a computer in an unidentified location by a hobbyist. The LPFM feeds several FM translators, under the guise of being an "educational institution". There is no staff, no live programming, not even a real Board of Directors. It's just a sham jukebox. I hope that those who want KGHO to expand are not the same people who lament the loss of local programming. The LPFM move in Grays Harbor from 98.5 to 99.9 is due to the probable entry of a commercial FM on 98.5 in Thurston County.

I know listening to faraway radio stations has always been an adrenaline rush for many, including myself. I grew up in the days of AM radio, and at night from my home in Raymond listened to KGEM in Boise, CKWX, XERB, XTRA, etc. Unfortunately it has always been the case that people like us didn't bring one cent of revenue to these stations. Nothing new except now we're searching for the elusive FM station.

I know what you mean, CIOC makes up the 4th preset in my car, and it comes in perfectly here in Gig Harbour. I will be lived if some station takes up 98.5 down in the south sound.

I can hounestly say, these Christian radio networks are ruining radio. I cannot complain too much if a repeater is messing up my ability to pick up a radio station one hundred miles away, but a CSN repeater ruining the signal of KZOK should NOT be tolerated. Centrailia may be out of the 60dbu broadcast range, but that does not mean repeaters should be allowed to degrade the signal even further. I personally feel the best solution is to mandate these non com translators to move below 92mhz if they wish to continue broadcasting. Contrary to popular belief , there is PLENTY of space. We just need to force stations such as KGHP to pick a frequency, and vacate the others (like crainbebo stated).

KACS has already ruined my chances to pick up CBU-FM and CHBE with a regular radio antenna. I am thinking about getting some sort of yagi antenna to get a directional signal (any recommendations, folks?)

I totally agree...I'd also like to see the FCC start considering extending the FM band down toward 85.1 and limit the power. Lets get the non-com below 92.1.
