Ways to revive talk radio in LA market

When Disney bought ABC in 1995, one of its first major investments was the launch of Radio Disney in 1996. They started buying AM radio stations to accomplish that goal. They bought AM stations in NY, LA, and Dallas. So while I agree they allowed their (previously successful) talk stations to decline, they put a lot of money and energy into Radio Disney. They also increased their investment in ESPN Radio, which was begun under Cap Cities ownership in 1992.

1992-1996 I worked for Cap Cities (not a radio station, but one of their publishing companies). I remember a weekly newsletter that had listings of (mostly) radio/TV jobs. (I never tried to apply, most were farther away than I wanted to move at that time).

After the Disney purchase, I managed to buy a few shares of stock about a year before I left. (That's also how I got a few shares of Citadel stock....which became worthless in less than a year!)
