Absurd... and if Spanish is your primary language as it is now for me, laughable!I once had a teacher who was originally from Spain, and was well aware of California history, when driving up the coast at one time, said he was astounded when he saw a new housing developement called "Las Casas de Quesos Verdes" ! There may be an effort to "keep everything Spanish" but this at the level of absurdity!

Here in "The Desert" (with capital letters) we have lots of pseudo-Spanish names. Many are nonsensical, but the biggest errors are mismatches of gender like where a word is masculine and "La" is put ahead of it. Or words that don't exist but have been created by putting an "a" or an "o" on an English word.
