Hi all,
I've wondered this for a while but just listening to a clip of the Jeff Kaye morning show on WBEN from Nov 1978 (from Youtube - Buffalo Broadcastint Assoc) reminded me again.
In the clip was the top of hour/news intro that was still in use through the 1980's to early '90s.
Over the top of a dissonant chord which builds slightly, the announcer says "and now, news, from Western NY's number one radio station, WBEN, Buffalo" followed by a loud chord strike which resolves the dissonant one. In the 1978 clip the text was shorter, just "and now, news, from WBEN, Buffalo".
Who is the announcer? For some reason I thought it was Jeff Kaye but hearing it right next him as morning show host it sounds like someone else.
