WBZ-AM 1030 - Live Top of the Hour News Back ?

Was driving home from work last night at 9:00 PM and heard Don Huff doing the news live at the top of the hour. Has WBZ canned its pre-recorded news in the evening? Hope so.

I noticed that last week - nice to have that service restored. Plus it gives them a bit of leeway if things run late on Nightside. From the dark days of last January, pretty everything has been restored except for Saturday evening.

Also, recently they changed the top of the hour ID to put a spot or two after it before the news starts. That just sounds really odd.....

I think they wanted to give a little bit of separation between the powerful sounding top of the hour ID and the powerful sounding "New England's Newswatch Never Stops..." ID.

Ill never forget back in February 2008 when I could get WBZ-AM loud and clear in Quebec, Canada.

I could get WBZ-AM loud and clear in Quebec,
Was that a surprise? In Nov- Feb. you may even be able to get it in the daytime in Que.

WBZ: When are they going to be confident enough to let Gary go, he's retired already?

LOL - Tell me about it. The guy retired almost three years ago. It's bad enough having to listen to him hawking those commercials for "The Commonwealth Advisory Group."
