Just discussing this with a friend.I'm not in the listening area any more. How about the Subaru dealers of New England all wheel Drive Traffic on the 3's brought by Toyota. Is something like that considered about a 15 second ad?
No, that is a 5 second ad. It's a "tag" and not an ad in my opinion.Just discussing this with a friend.I'm not in the listening area any more. How about the Subaru dealers of New England all wheel Drive Traffic on the 3's brought by Toyota. Is something like that considered about a 15 second ad?
Not the ones in traffic, often sold separately and even by a separate company or division. They had to buy some kind of advertising package to get the Tag.
Alright, David, I'll bite: I've been baffled for well over two decades (!) how a competing car maker, i.e., Toyota, could "sponsor" the "Subaru Retailers of New England All-Wheel Drive Traffic on the Threes". What don't I understand here? Not the ones in traffic, often sold separately and even by a separate company or division.
Believe it or not, I think, after reading it a couple of times, I may have actually understood that.Depending on any time separation (noncompete) agreement Subaru has or policy WBZ has, Toyota may be able to buy a tag or spot near or in the same traffic report knowing full well that "Subaru" will still be mentioned. Agreements vary widely.
If a station purchased "Subaru 4 wheel drive traffic reports" as opposed to a traffic reporting company purchasing air time for the reports with embedded spots, then the station can ethically sell an adjacency or tag and say the report was "brought to you by <so and so>".
Well-l-l-l-l-l-l-l-l-l-l, that may explain why the two share space on Traffic On The Threes!Part owner? Car ANd Driver, 2022:

From the July/August 2022 issue of Car and Driver.
Since Toyota first purchased a stake in Subaru, the two automakers have been getting awfully cozy.
??????????????It's your cahhh!
Cute! Thanks. 😊Watch this and you’ll understand:
I suppose this is a good thing, since every mention of the sponsor is another "ka-ching!" But given the FREQUENCY of these mentions - in 'BZ's case, every 10 minutes throughout their news day part, - the cost to the sponsors must be reasonable and affordable, so I hope the revenue flow into iHeart is favorable.i-Heart stations are over-sponsored period. My Mom listens to The River 105.9 in Hartford which is i-Heart's 70s-90s Classic Hits station.
You hear this. "River Connecticut Weather. From the Gene Langan (sp) Volkswagen of Glastonbury Weather Center. This report brought to you by Price Chopper/Market 32." Then they'll have the Weather from WTNH the ABC station in Connecticut.
And the traffic reports. "From the Staples Stores Traffic Center. This report brought to you buy Home Depot." Then the traffic.
And can't forget the sponsorship of The Legal ID. "From the Law Offices of Trantolo & Trantolo Studios. This is WHCN and WHCN HD 1 Hartford. The River 105.9 Connecticut's biggest variety of the 70s, 80s, and 90s."
