WBZ RADIO AM 1030 RUNS YESTERDAY'S NEWS ON TAPE

Listened to WBZ AM 1030 Boston's "Alleged" All News Station on Friday night/Saturday morning at 1 AM. The national CBS news was live and timely. That news ended and WBZ went local to a traffic report. Next, WBZ Radio the "Alleged" All News Station went to a local news wrap up. What WBZ played was a TAPE of THURSDAY night's news. One could tell because the newscaster reported that The Red Sox had just beaten Tampa Bay. Well, you idiot, The Red Sox had just lost to Baltimore.

What's up with WBZ ? In time of a national disaster whether it is overnight or not WBZ RADIO which calls itself The All News Station plays CANNED news which is two days old.

Who is the GM and PD at this station. They have made a series of significant errors in the past few months. If I were Infinity I would ask both of them to turn in their washroom keys.

WBZ Radio AM 1030 is either a source of live up to date news or it is not.

dear lord

I'm beginning to think that you now have a severe, unhealthy obsession with WBZ. As a handful of us posted before,,,move on,,,go outside and get some air. Maybe you could use LiveJornal to vent your WBZ obsession.

As President Harry Truman once said. . .

Your response sort of reminds me of President Harry Truman's response when they called him "Give 'em Hell Harry". Truman responded, " I just tell the truth and they think its Hell."

Is there something in my post that is not true? WBZ Radio ran a TWO DAY OLD TAPE NEWSCAST and they got caught. Its not even like an old newspaper; you can't wrap fish in it.

If it's true, I agree with you... but you're still obsessed. They got medicine for that...
______________

Re: As President Harry Truman once said. . .

Look, Steve, WBZ Radio passes itself off as the Tiffany radio news station in this city and it has proven in the past few months that it cannot be trusted to deliver the unvarnished or now even live newscast.

If being obsessed with the truth is a crime, I plead guilty your honor. Proudly !

WBZ is either in the news business or it is not. Can you imagine The Boston Globe or the Herald running Thursday's news as front page news in its Saturday edtion. I cannot. It is just not professional.

There are enough individuals in this business who are not professional and I for one will call them on it when I see it.

Again, if being obsessed with the truth is a crime. I plead guilty with honor!

By the way, The Red Sox won tonight so WBZ Radio AM 1030 The News Station can play Thursday's news tape again and maybe nobody will notice..... ;-)

Are they still using tape these days? It could've been a digital archive sound file in AudioVault, or something similar.

everything you say annoys me. everything.

Can't ya just drop it? We're tired of this subject and we know your point of view. Anytime something happens on the station, we'll just assume you think it's terrible, fair enough?

Is it possible the overnight board op, played the wrong file? Mistakes happen, its a part of life.

That's quite possible. A couple times WTKK ran "taped" Sean Hannity and played the show from a couple days back, not the current show.

There was the time many years ago when I was watching a local TV station and they ran an ad for the "WJIB Christmas Festival of Music"...in July

Well like most liberals at least he's good for a few laughs :) (sometimes I
even agree with him, don't it go to show ya never know) But if WBZ indeed did
do this it would be like picking up today's Globe and seeing a total reprint
of Friday's edition. Not good.
______________

Probably yes--we still say "tape"

This morning I was on WMWM playing some music from the Essex (Folk
and Blues) Music Festival from last weekend. Yes, it was on a CD.
Yes, it exists as a sound file on my computer (from which I burned
the CD). But the original source was a cassette--I used a stereo mic
on a recordable Walkman cass deck, then transferred it. Analog still exists!
______________

Some odd things about CBS. Sometimes the Tiffany network will have
its ace anchorman attempting to unseat a sitting President by,
knowingly or unknowingly, using forged documents on an alleged
news program. But I'd "Rather" not bring up "old news" :)
______________

Lean to read! I am Talking About WBZ Radio AM 1030 Not CBS NEWS and Dan Rather. Some of us can walk and chew gum at the same time.

Perfect example of the Ostrich syndrome at work.

That ducks the question: Why is Boston's only ALL NEWS RADIO STATION running canned news - news on tape. Guess they would run canned traffic reports if they could and maybe they do.

I am sure that happens but we a talking about a radio station that passes itself off as Boston's News Station. Even WTKK stopped calling itself "live and local" when Severin was caught broadcasting from his basement in Long Island and Hannity et al are on a tape.

Still, those issues are not on point with what WBZ Radio AM 1030 - The News Station did in this time of national crisis. It is unacceptable.
