WBZ RADIO AM 1030 RUNS YESTERDAY'S NEWS ON TAPE

I was listening to WBZ this Sunday, September 4 and they just ran a commercial for a car dealership where their promotion was to end at the end of August and they wanted to sell cars before the end of the month to achieve their quota for 2006. Don't think they'll make it with that amateurish dsiplay of radio.
Criticism of Park Lane is totally unwarranted. Park Lane has been a friend of mine for 31 years and thou we may differ on politics I respect his opinion as it is always stated fairly and with courage. Criticize the white shirts at WBZ who seem to have no idea of what they put out on the air. They should be embarrassed.

Could've been a "make good". Maybe they found that they missed running one months ago, and that they still owed them a spot. Better late than never, I guess.

I say good for you, keep your eye on them because it appears they are "untouchable" when it comes to criticism, of course it appears that people in the money demo have discovered that the "news station" has some credibility problems, maybe it started with picking grapefruit during a blizzard?

Yes, another little dirty secret exposed about WBZ. Maybe Gary was broadcasting from the old "sundeck studio"...south.

WBZ is NOT an ALL NEWS RADIO STATION. WBZ is a news/talk radio station and they only do quick news updates once or twice an hour during the talk hours. When no new major story is happening locally in the middle of the night, I'm not surprised they don't have "live" news just for the spots at the top/bottom of the hour. This is especially true since they DO have live network feeds from CBS (and sometimes from ABC).

For an example of what an ALL NEWS RADIO STATION is like you might try listening to WINS or KYW.

Uh huh. That must be the reason why nobody listens to WBZ--because they don't have a local person spouting off 30 seconds of news during the top/bottom of the hour spots. You are right about NATIONAL crisis, which is why WBZ does run NATIONAL news live all night as necessary from CBS radio or ABC radio.

By the way WBZ has very high ratings.

Cool!

They run advertisments for cat litter made of recycled newspaper? I'm glad to see their worrying about the environment in this era of Greenhouse hurricanes.

Ok, ok.. They should run them off computer instead of carts...

One more thing....

The New Hampshire & Vermont news pages on the WBZ radio and WBZ-TV(CBS4, if you must) websites have not been updated since Thursday.

I grew up on WBZ-TV and Radio and it's just too bad that this is happening.

how could you tell other than the score?

Before New Orleans reverted back to its natural state of being part of the Mississippi River all we heard for the previous month was Cindy Sheeehan camping out in Crawford stalking Bush 43.

It was the same "news" story the mainstream media was following for weeks. I think
somewhere there mght have been something news worthy going on, but all the news crews decided August was a good month for vacation, did a bunch of generic spots, vaulted them and then headed to the beach leaving some intern and a board op to play them in rotation all month.

The weather has been the same all month so maybe Weather Services INc phoned it in too.

And as for traffic on the 3's that is so predictable especially on the overnight they could record it weeks in advance. " Overnight work crews have the..... 495, route 3 and 95 are all in good shape from ....... to ...... the Pike and route 9 are all clear....

I wonder if they didn't give the sports score would you have even noticed?

I bet you listened to the whole newscast without a clue it was 2 days old and then went WTF when the score was wrong.

BTW Gil Santos does not live at the studios. His mid day sports reports are canned till the PM drive guy comes in. The weather reports are done in advance.
The morning guy is phoning it in really he is from Florida 2 weeks a month in the Winter.

Pay no attention to that man behind the curtain.
