WCKG Free Of Being Free-FM; Now "Chicago's FM Talk Station"

This was effective yesterday on their air and their website, http://www.1059freefm.com .

You mean it took THIS LONG for someone to post this to the board? Wow, I guess nobody IS listening to WCKG! ;D

I've still been hearing some slips in their web announcements when the station plays commercials. I always thought that it was a silly slogan anyway! And, speaking of CKG, I wonder who they will get to fill in the Saturday 3 to 5 slot with Bob and Maryann going to WGN? Their site hasn't taken them off yet.

It wasn't like they flipped it in one day though. Over the past few weeks, usage of "Free FM" has slowly faded away.

Keep in mind as well that the station has been known as WCKG since the 80's, with a talk format since the mid-90's, and as far as I know, the station never identified as "105.9 Free FM", using "105.9 WCKG Free FM" instead.
