Decided to post this as this change may affect east coast listeners of WCCO.
According to the Worcester Telegram and Gazette (sports section) WCRN will boost it's nighttime signal to 50 kw starting 1/2007. This increase should enable WCRN to be heard throughtout the Boston Metrowest area, all of Worcester County (MA), northern RI and southern NH. (this must be the groundwave part of the signal).
A WCRN station was quoted as saying "it is offical,it is going to happen, we will build it."
WCRN debeued as a 5000 watt station with (what else) religious programming but now does talk shows and sports and is 50kw during the day. Former Congressman Peter Blute (R) hosts a talk show on the station.
I don't know much about the proposed signal pattern and if it will affect 50kw WCCO in Minneapolis. Y'all can look it up and figure it out. I have enough problem finding the on/off switch on the radio.
