WCSJ AM 1550 Morris, Moving to Roanoke, IL. WZRK Chicago from Lake Geneva next?

While the Morris move may be a reality, I've heard that they are actively trying to sell the unbuilt CP. I wouldn't count this as a done deal just yet.

No one will buy this thing as a CP. They will end up building it and try to get a few watts night coverage. Off it to a minority held broadcaster to target a niche audience.

While you're probably right, it's also not a lock that either group has the money to build it either (otherwise it would be done by now). I don't know how Nelson is doing, but the folks behind Timeless Cool have been doing cuts of epic proportions.

I still think that there's a possibility (however slim) that the CP expires and it doesn't get built, or it's withdrawn and filed for a different location to reset the clock.

I love WCSJ's website front page:

"WCSJ AM 1550 is a full-service FM station".

Waitwhat?

Maybe there's some unintentional coupling between the modulated stages and the 1550 khz generator, resulting in some
frequency deviation. :D Full-service might not necessarily mean full 200 khz deviation. Maybe it's narrow band FM
on top of (mixed in with) the AM. :p

I'd rather not that it be built, I get an oldies station in St Joseph, MO. on 1550.

Are you sure it's Oldies? I hear Sports at that dial position (IDing ESPN radio, St. Joseph).

ESPN now? That's quite believable. I'll check that tonight.
I had been using 1550 for my part 15, but I decided to buy a rock for 1620 a few years back and that's where I've been.
