WCVB/Channel 5: Ed Harding moves back to Sports on the late news

Ok, I'm kind of joking.

With sports guys Mike Lynch and Mike Dowling down in Fort Myers for Red Sox spring training (and how many anchors/reporters does one station REALLY need in one place to report on Dice-K's first pitch and Manny's yearly late report to camp with yet another excuse), Ed Harding handled the rest of the world of sports news in addition to anchoring the rest of the 11pm news with Liz Brunner.

I guess it's cheaper than bringing in Bob Halloran for 90 seconds or so. ;D

And, for the record, Manny's excuse this year is that his mother just had surgery and he is spending time with her. Such a nice son. ::)

Shuffling anchors to new schedule???

Just happened to watch WCVB's 6pm Sunday (2/25) broadcast and anchoring was the entire weeknight crew: Liz Brunner, Ed Harding, sports anchor Mike Lynch (just returned all tanned from spring training in Fort Myers), and meteorologist Harvey Leonard.

Now, Mike Lynch's schedule was changed some time ago to a Sunday thru Thursday schedule so I wasn't surprised to see him. But I don't recall reading or seeing anything about the other anchors being shuffled to a Sunday to Thursday schedule.

Fox 25 has been doing that for awhile.

I hardly think it's because its Oscar Night on ABC (WCVB is an ABC affliate). I couldn't find anything on CVB's website, thebostonchannel.com, about it.

Ya think when Ed Harding becomes the official male weeknight co-anchor starting March 26th that Natalie Jacobsen will start working Sunday nights with him?? ::)
