My guess is that they thought "who in Cananda needs to watch local news from Boston MA?" So, they illiminated the one program most expendable for financial purposes. The flaw in that thinking of course is, what would be the point of showing a Boston TV station if you aren't going to broadcast the "localness" of it to begin with? Case in point, WGN America is a separate from WGN Chicago, but still puts on WGN News, making it still, WGN.
We used to have a similar set up in San Diego with WNBC and the local cable providers. Of course, NBC now owns the local affiliate in San Diego, so doesn't matter anyway.
