WCVB's NewsCenter 5 at Noon (if you have Bell TV)

No idea, we had the Noon newscast today. It's actually still on because of the Hurricane Earl coverage. Maybe they just decided not to carry it because it's not going to be half an hour today?

Strange that Bell TV or WCVB replaced the noon news with infomercials, especially since Hurricane Earl has relevancy in the Maritimes. Was CFTO having technical problems with their noon news today, with that station showing infomercials instead and Bell TV keeping the simsub going after "The View"?

My guess is that they thought "who in Cananda needs to watch local news from Boston MA?" So, they illiminated the one program most expendable for financial purposes. The flaw in that thinking of course is, what would be the point of showing a Boston TV station if you aren't going to broadcast the "localness" of it to begin with? Case in point, WGN America is a separate from WGN Chicago, but still puts on WGN News, making it still, WGN.
We used to have a similar set up in San Diego with WNBC and the local cable providers. Of course, NBC now owns the local affiliate in San Diego, so doesn't matter anyway.
