I've heard the CBS Roundup late edition at 7pm. To be quite honest, I don't listen to WDEL during their morning newsblock with Peter McArthur and Mellanie Armstrong, because there's way much hype and commericals taking too long to get the info I want quickly in the morning (weather and traffic), so I listen to WILM while getting ready for work. Then after giving WILM the first 30 minutes of listening, I switch over to WHYY-FM for All Things Considered. At 9am I tune in to Al Messetti on WDEL.
So I can't say about the 8am Roundup, but as WDEL does air part of the 7pm roundup ( I don't remember them airing the entire 10 minute broadcast ( it used to be 10 minutes) as that would conflict with syndicated talker Laura Ingraham), but I do remember the CBS anchor calling the broadcast the CBS news evening roundup, late edition so they air the first two minutes of it before going to their local news coverage is what I remember.
Sometimes WDEL's News Director, Chris Carl reads these posts and he certainly could offer more detailed info as to what WDEL is now doing and correct any mistakes I made in what I believed I heard (in traffic I'm only half listening so it's easy to miss detail and get it wrong). From what I've heard lately, WDEL is becoming even a better news source than before as they are including the CBS radio hourly newscast and they are promoting that they air CBS radio's audio version of Face the Nation. Also, they've been doing more live feeds from CBS radio when breaking news happens while WILM stays with John Watson or Rush, depending on the time the event happens. That's my spin, maybe Chris Carl or someone else who is a more regular listener to WDEL will offer some clarification.
