In fact, I'd say weather.com is more important than the cable channel that happens to be called "The Weather Channel".

You mean things that have happened in the past generation, like widespead adoption of that high-falootin' broadband (back in MY day, we had narrowband and we LIKED it, you spoiled kids!) and one-touch weather access on mobile phones (APPS? My old rotary phone as all the apps I need!)?
