@ Art Spooner, Sorry no relation.
The simulcast would be a temporary, albeit a good idea in the interim for their sports teams it would be great to not have to use my iPhone App all the time to get a clearer reception and I'm next to Boston too.
The post about the demos is spot on. Dale, I got nothing but radio love for ya, but while you're not long in the gums yet, you're up there. You're a great broadcaster, probably one of the best play by play broadcasters in New England. That's more of a strength for you at this career point, IMO.
EEI's demo is older, while I don't think Merloni and Munansky(sp) are the answer, EEI' never thought it'd have to cultivate young talent. They let Wallach walk to the competition. Meterperrell(sp) could hold a show on his own either. It's a shame, but what do you do? Cut back on Mike Adams and put Dale there? NO!
Lastly, the weekend callers on EEI' are TOOOO predictable, note to Program Director, 'NOBODY wants to hear the same callers, Yankee Talk or not every single weekend. Get a call screener with some nuts', and tell the callers 'once every two weeks or a month, because it does get redundant, I completely agree.
Lastly +1, You can't mess with the money makers Morning and Afternoon Drive, so Dale unfortunately you're the odd man out. Hell, 20 years! Dude, that's kind of the problem with this market. I acknowledge Arnold's good, but 20 years? Boston is the only market where the the Matty's and Dales and Loren and Wally's and the Mike Adams (MJX) get tenure its like state government on radio, I almost forgot Howie. It's very interesting to me. Fresh talent almost never gets an opportunity here. Just my dos cents
