WEEU's transmitter denied us the rest of The Rest of the Story!

At least that's the impression I got at 5:26 today. A few seconds into TROTS, WEEU went dead. And was still dead the remaining 25 minutes of my commute home, forcing me to miss my favorite feature of 69 News Berks edition: the Berks County Time Train. :(Anyone know what today's BCTT was about? Or should I save that question for R-I's Philly TV board?ixnay

somebody mowing the lawn at the xmttr site must have hit something (LOL)....it is summer after all
Well, WFMZ reported the next day (Tuesday) on the Berks Ed. that FirstEnergy was doing some work in downtown Reading during the 5:00 hour and something was cut or damaged, I forget what it was that was hit, and it darkened downtown Reading, including the WEEU and TV 69 Berks studios which are around the corner from each other. The outage lasted about 45 minutes. So it was a FirstEnergy snafu, not something at the xmttr.ixnay

Reminds me of that scene from Airplane when they showed that guy pulling out the plug for the runway lights

Why WEEU-830 was off

It would have been a Met-Ed snafu. FirstEnergy owns 3 electric companies in PA and Met-Ed is one of them.
