Ormond Beach radio station owner F. Douglas Wilhite was arrested this morning on accusations of sex acts with a teenage boy, sheriff’s officials said. It’s involves alleged engaged in sex acts "about a dozen times," according to a statement by Volusia County Sheriff’s Office spokesman Brandon Haught. The case is still under investigation as the Sheriff’s Office looks further into Wilhite’s past activities with the possibility that there are additional victims. The investigation started when Wilhite was interviewed about reports the accuser had been missing since May. It was learned that Wilhite was a nudist and the teenage boy and his friends were allowed to be naked around Wilhite, Wilhite told investigators the boy made sexual advances toward him, but that he never touched the boy sexually. However the boy said Wilhite had engaged in sex acts with him about a dozen times, Investigators spoke to the boy in July and he told them Wilhite would provide alcohol to him if he would agree to be naked, Wilhite also told investigators he allowed the teenage boy and his friends to have sex in his home, including in his presence, Haught said. He added that he offered to provide video equipment to the victim and his friends if they wanted to film themselves naked. Wilhite was booked into the Volusia County Branch Jail in Daytona Beach and was released after posting $100,000 bail.

Why does this suprise me? I worked for this guy back in the 1980s when he owned WSSA radio in Morrow Ga.
I knew even in my early 20s that something was not quite right about him. I knew his wife Sherry, and all of his daughters.. Just wow, never knew that he or for that matter SHE was that way.. Unreal...

The family was really nice BUT the dad always creeped me out. he would walk around naked and his family would say just ignore my dad he is a nudist. it does not suprise me. With that many kids he had more access to young girls and boys. I feel bad for his kids. I knew them.. but how did they not see what there dad was doing was wrong... I was never aloud to go over there again after my mom found that out.

"Allowed" is the proper spelling...

But regardless of how "nice" they were, there was....umm, a PROBLEM?

I'd have screamed something like "GET YOUR DAMN CLOTHES ON, WHAT THE HELL DO YOU THINK YOU ARE??!!"

I have nothing against nudists, and I understand Alternative Lifestyles. As long as they they keep their weirdest "hobby" to themselves. I believe there comes a time when a "lifestyle" can become a PERVERSION. It is when you do not respect the rights of others, especially those with little children present.....

Even though you're talking to a guy called "Bongwater" on the Radio-Info boards. I do not and never have promoted drug use to my own kids. EVER.

But then again, they are not old enough to read this. "Bongwater" comes as a reference to the utterly USELESS reference so-called "Radio Professionals" made me out to be (On top of the fact I have always OPENLY believed marijuana should be legalized.) And to this day, I DO NOT regret it.

In fact, as time goes by, People actually LIKE me for it.....
 
I know this guy for a years. He was spooky and had them 'spooky' eyes. A very quiet guy. To look at him you'd think he wouldn't hurt a fly, kept to himself, and did not have much of a life outside the station or involvement with others.
My BIG question is how did his wife not know this was going on. I am talking about the things he admitted to investigators. On the other charges I believe innocent till proven guilty or he accepts a plea.
I know his son Doug III and he is a 'genius' in many ways. Those are the most hurt by this and who I feel most sorry for, his kids and grandkids.
There will be much more to come out of this I am sure.
Well, we shall see and I just wish the family solace though these trying times.

Doug Wilhite was back on the air yesterday afternoon, making jokes about his arrest in a slew of double-entendres. He began his on-air banter with Big John, whose show "Big Talk with Big John" immediately follows Wilhite's daily "The Premier Travel Show" at 4 p.m. John's program started 28 minutes late Monday because he, Wilhite and the station owner's minister -- Pastor Charles Melvin of the Ormond Beach Union Church -- talked about Wilhite's arrest Friday and the way he was treated at the Volusia County Branch Jail. Melvin, according to Wilhite, was in the studio for "moral support." When John mentioned on the air Monday that he had spoken to the media on Wilhite's behalf, Wilhite said, "You know the whole story."
Wilhite said that when police came to his house Friday to arrest him, he was still in bed. Wilhite said he was handcuffed in the nude for five hours. "They told me to bend over and spread 'em," Wilhite said at one point with a laugh, describing his evening at the jail. While he thanked the jailers for placing him in a private cell, Wilhite disapproved of "how much swearing the guards do."
When Wilhite's program ended, it was immediately followed by a commercial about the services of attorney Mel Stack, who is representing Wilhite in this case.
 
Wilhite’s attorney entered written pleas of not guilty Tuesday to accusations his client. The State Attorney's Office filed two charges: sexual activity with a minor, a first degree felony, and lewd and lascivious molestation of a person over the age of 12, but under 16, also a felony. According to State Attorney spokesman Chris Kelly, defense attorney David Damore, who is representing Wilhite, filed the pleas with the Clerk of Court's office Tuesday, allowing his client to avoid appearing in court. The case will now be placed on a pre-trial docket.
 
Make no mistake: If this guy is convicted, he will be going away for a long, LONG time.

What happened to Melvin Stack? Thought he was the attorney and was getting radio commercial time in exchange for representation. There were lots of advertisements for him right after the July arrest.

He kept his 15 yo grandson captive as a sex slave. He wouldn't let him leave the house, so he ran away. How many youngsters has he molested now?Any one know him for a long time and want justice to be served?

Where do you come to this accusation for your first post, unless you just created another name?
I hope this is removed. Wilhite is guilty of what he admitted and still must be tried in a court of law or plea bargain for the charges he plead not guilty to.
I am not defending him; he should be punished and held accountable for the things he admitted to police. I don't believe his family needs more on their plate that's all.

I'm not agreeing nor disagreeing with you as I know nothing about the merits of the statement made. However, I am asking what evidence do you have to verify this statement? Unless you can prove your statements, what you just posted is a prime example of Libelous Contempt.

I don't care about what I write in response to this. I think this is just plain SICK!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Here is a man who if a nudist.. WHO REALLY CARES.. But letting teenagers have sex in front of him?? Not NORMAL!!!
I wonder if he was this ILL when I worked for him?
It's very very sad that all of this has occured and so many are writing things in defense of this dude.. If I would have even thought that he was this EVIL, back in the 80s I would have BOOKED from that Radio Station quickly.
I remember the quietness of this man, the soft voice, and the DRIVE he had to make money.. THEN I go to his facebook page and see that he has a huge home, and a DAMN PLANE??????? This is just not right..
He's sick, needs some serious help, and if sherry let him act in this way, WHY??? WHY did she let her kids have other neighborhood kids over with him sitting around his house NAKED???? Doug.. If you are convicted and proven to have made these mistakes.. PLEASE get some help.. YOU NEED IT.....!
