Well, this did not last long: George Plaster leaves WSM-AM after one month

Plas is now on All Sports 560 WNSR(and 95.9 W240CA)from 2-4P. Interesting turn of events. I think they have more listeners than WSM-AM. Looks like there was no prior plan to make this move. Should be interesting. I like this plan much more than WSM-AM.

You are right. Non-what? I guess they figured it did not matter. (Translation: My hunch - the agreement for leasing the time on WSM-AM and making said payments would have been more inviting than worrying if George went elsewhere. It was impossible to get many advertisers and the payment probably was unavailable.) What is really interesting is whether this tree falling in the forest hit anything and made even a dent in the currently eroding WSM-AM saga. FTR - they finally mowed the 80 foot tall grass at the transmitter site, My guess is the City of Brentwood served em notice. Sadly, not kidding. Pathetic.

I have not listened to him. I will try to today, Firepoint. I get what you are saying. For many years, he rolled along and was a trusted name and voice. Somewhere, somehow, I guess something went wrong and just did not stop. I am guessing it was mostly his fault. One thing is for sure, he has a better chance of an audience on 95.9 than 650. But, will that be enough?

I am not getting 95.9 here at home. I can get it in the car, however.

If being on an FM frequency was his only issue, well he has been on 99.7, 104.5, and 102.5 in the past. 95.9 is only a translator. How will that help him?

Of course, his "failure" (if we could call it that) on WSM should give pause to all the sports talkers who have been wanting to take over that frequency for years now!
