WEMP-FM 98.9 and online soft AC & easy listening gone silent on February 1.

The owners decided to simulcast their AM talker WOMT 1240 on 98.9 instead and also ended the WEMP online stream
This is a big loss for lovers of easy listening music and soft vocals. I am in Toronto so some stations mentioned here are geoblocked.
At least I still have WHLC and KNCT. I have SiriusXM so in my car my radio is locked onto ."Escape" channel.

Where have you been? This has been discussed for 2 months now. Lol

Here's one of several threads...

The last page or two of this thread...

This is true, but out of fairness, @Mojo55 did only join RD this past Monday, so he or she may not have been aware of those threads when they posted this one.

Before I post a thread, I always do a quick search to see if it's being currently discussed. I find that's the best way to see if there is already a thread, or if it's the subject of a recent post.

I think that's good advice for anyone who is new to a message board ... click on any and all existing threads that appeals to you in order to get a general idea of what's already being discussed. It's a good way to get an overview of what the existing board participants are thinking, and there is the added benefit of increasing one's knowledge base without appearing ignorant by asking something that was answered previously.

There is a lot of collected wisdom here (despite there also being a lot of cluelessness and stubbornness by people who want the business to go back to the way it was). Taking time to explore before posting can be an education all by itself.
