WEPN's Michael Kay's show tops Mike Francesa’s WFAN replacements in winter ratings

Kay, LaGregeca, and Rosenberg often get off on tangents and spend too much time discussing non-sports related topics.

Tony Kornheiser made that approach work better than anyone. You could go a full half-hour or more on his show without hearing anything about sports. Currently, Dan Le Batard on ESPN Radio can be that way, too. While sports radio's core may be the eat-drink-breathe-sleep sports fan, entertaining personalities can build audience through widening the range of topics discussed to even non-sports topics.
