Were the god-awful Manno Brothers finally canned?

These two ratings-starved losers -- consisting of a fruity-sounding guy who loved hearing himself talk and his brother who exuded zero personality -- are nowhere to be found on Q101's jock page.

It indicates Tim Virgin (ex. of WHFS and a Q101 alum) now handles the 3 - 7 PM shift. I thought the trades reported he was coming on board to do evenings. Was that just smoke & mirrors?

Are the Mannos gone for good, or did they get moved back to evenings?

Update: THEY *ARE* GONE FOR GOOD! Saw a "Tweet" from Ryan Manno on Q's web site just now from yesterday announcing that it was his last show on the station. Good riddance.

How they managed to stay on board for so long while producing such lousy ratings is beyond me.

Looks like the new line-up is:
Sherman & Tingle
Electra
Tim Virgin
Pogo
Loveline

This is a BIG improvement.

Yes--they went from WMAQ-FM to WNIS (news and information service) around 75. It didn't last long though. I guess Chicago wasn't ready for news on FM.
 
It was mostly from the network key - with just a few minutes of local hourly. Preistoric of what espn offers in sports, now.

I remember it well. Ironic that all news did finally go to WMAQ on the AM side.
 
Not really ironic. Burt Sherwood (WMAQ's manager during the country years) is a super-brain. He's a friend of mine, who sold a few radio stations for me, as well.
