Sadly, it is not a surprise. Keymarket's sibling Forever turned four local AMs in Venango and Crawford counties into a "news-talk" network, leaving one daytime AM, a local oldies FM and some Christian radio fed out of Mississippi (I think) as the only alternatives in Oil City-Franklin-Titusville (and I think Meadville, too).
At least Clear Channel's "Big One" WWVA-AM 1170 still sounds local a couple hours a day, albeit I suspect under some community pressure. It's why Sean Hannity doesn't run there and the ministers still do at night.
(Then again, this is also the same Clear Channel that wanted to move WWVA, as Jim Quinn would put it, to "the more fortunate suburbs of Cleveland.")
Incidentally, one more oddity for sports fans ... WWVA is the most powerful station, in terms of counties covered, for the Pittsburgh Steelers radio network. (I think in terms of watts WDVE is stronger.)
