Westwood One spins its Metro Traffic business to Clear Channel
UPDATE: See John Hogan's memo to Clear Channel staff, below.

Radio-Info reports: Today's deal represents a major consolidation in the traffic business, both on-air and in digital.

"This is an exciting opportunity and we will keep you posted with updates on our progress in bringing these two businesses together. In the meantime, please join me in welcoming our new colleagues to Clear Channel."

I note that KTAR's traffic website is operated or affiliated with "SigAlert", which, I believe is involved in this transaction. So will KFYI and KTAR be using the same service (with the presumable exception of on-air reporters)? Or does KTAR have to do something else?

Maybe they can put two DPS officers in airplanes, one on the east side and the other on the west side....

Oldtimers will understand......
