Westwood One's Michael Savage Celebrates 25 Years in Radio

https://news.****************/cgi-bin/rol.exe/headline_id=n36671

Savage started his time in radio in San Francisco at KSFO back in the 1990's. Recently Savage's show has been replaced by Ben Shapiro in certain parts of the country though.

Westwood One has announced that legendary broadcaster Dr. Michael Savage is celebrating his 25th anniversary in talk radio this Sunday, March 24. Savage, host of the popular "The Savage Nation" broadcast and podcast is a National Radio Hall of Fame broadcaster and the author of more than 25 books, including several New York Times best-sellers. WWO will honor Savage's silver anniversary with a special program airing on Monday, March 25 featuring clips of highlights over the years, special call-ins and other surprises.

During his radio career, Savage has combined timely political content with real-life issues including health, science, religion and culture, among others. In January, he launched a new hybrid radio show and podcast. The Savage Nation podcast has already been named to Apple's New and Noteworthy podcasts and had one of the most successful podcast debuts in News/Talk.

Shapiro is annoying.
A smart-mouthed know-it-all host who's difficult to listen to.

Congrats on the milestone. I personally listened to Savage for about a week about a decade ago and it was all I could take. Maybe it was the station I was listening to, or perhaps it was the way he speaks into the mic, but he was so distorted at times that it was difficult to listen. At one point he started disparaging the US military, as one of our servicemen was killed and that person's family made a minor comment that he was supportive of the particular group that had killed him. Savage pounced, tried to turn it into a completely different situation than it was in reality and started yelling "Mark my words, you haven't heard the last of this story, this is going to become a BIG news item in the coming days when the truth actually comes out!" In reality, it wasn't a big news item, it was a non-story and nothing ever came of Savage's boisterous prediction.
