WFAN has been playing a promo for their "25th Anniversary Greatest Sports Moments" contest, and samples three "great sports moments" that were carried on their air, such as... the winning call of the Yankees winning the 1996 World Series... what? The Yankees were on WABC that year! I know because I and many other New Yorkers were listening on 77 WABC that Saturday night! The Yankees weren't even on WCBS-AM in the mid-'90's, so it's not like they can claim it was on a sister station and get away with it...
WFAN using the Yankees in their own "great sports moments of the last 25 years" promo can only mean one thing: They're going after the Yankees radio contract when it expires after this year.
Also, WFAN uses a clip of the Devils winning the Stanley Cup over the Ducks in 2003. Correct me if I'm wrong, but weren't the Devils on WABC back in 2003, as well?
