WFAN Special Announcement at 5:30pm on Wed. 8/22/12

At about 4:45pm on Wed. 8/22/12, Mike Francesa said he'd have a special WFAN announcement coming up at 5:30pm.
He mentioned that Mark Chernoff (PD/Operations Mgr.) said that they couldn't say anything until then.

Speculation: FM move/simulcast? Mets/Yanks radio rights? Contest? Other?

Will be radio-side on 660 AM in a little while!
 
That's one hell of a delay for the announcement in favor of Terry Collins' weekly spot. Especially considering the state of the Mets and Francesa not exactly being a fan of them.
 
The delay was more due to the Mets GM Sandy Alderson interview which ran from 5:30-6:00pm. Sandy had been scheduled earlier in the day but Alderson had to delay due to the Johan Santana disabled list/season shut down developments that were then announced later this Thursday afternoon.
