WFIL ditched its double decker bus. (Or has it?) Now London's followed suit.

I can tell you what WFIL said about it in 1970. It is pictured on the cover of the WFIL survey sheet for December 28, 1970 with the Top 56 of 1970 list inside. It says: "The WFIL Boss Bus Gets Philadelphia Together". Any other questions?

No questions but some comments. I like that slogan! We had Famous 56 on whenever we were on the road back in the late 60's -early 70s ("We" being my then-recently divorced mother and I). But it was with my father (who I still saw a lot and still do from time to time), sitting at that 1 and 452 intersection, that I saw the Boss Bus making the turn from southbound 1 onto southbound 452, where it was headed, I know not. My dad said "Look [ixnay's real name], a London bus!" (He'd been to London.)

Around Manhattan, NY, in recent years, I've seen some doubledecker tour buses with open air upper levels.

Re: WFIL Boss Bus

I found a WFIL bus abandoned in the woods off rt 50 in Easton MD. That was about 8 years ago. I do have pictures, but do not know how to post them. The top was cut off the bus. I wonder if WFIL had an event in MD and just left the bus because it broke down.
