WGBH/ Emily Rooney's "Beat The Press" Questions They Didn't Ask and Why?

Watched the usually excellent Friday edition of Emily Rooney's "Beat The Press" tonight but was greatly disappointed by the questions they did not ask regarding the Deval Patrick/ Ben Laguer controversy.

The question one would have thought they would have asked is how did this issue make the talk show circuit and news and who made it happen. The "why" is pretty obvious.

To date, it has been confirmed that Leominster mayor Dean Mazzarella who is a former Barney Fife went on a Boston talk station to discuss the old case because he said he was a local cop in that town at time of the incident. Mazzarella protested that he was an Independent but a Google search has him showing up on the Kerry Healey Campaign webpage as "a longtime Romney administration supporter."

Then there is the fact that the case took place in District Attorney John Conte's jurisdiction. DA John Conte was a longtime supporter of defeated gubernatorial candidate Tom Reilly. Reilly in fact went to DA Conte this winter to have him squash the release of evidence regarding the death of two young girls who died in an auto accident due to drunk driving on their part. There father was a longtime contributor to Tom Reilly. Could this all be a Reilly inspired case of not getting mad at Deval Patrick for soundly defeating him in the primary but getting even.

All interesting questions that you think the "brilliant minds" at "Beat The Press" would have introduced and discussed. But they did not. All the panel did was rehash information that has been out there and Deval Patrick's response. Not enough from this poster's point of view. Expect more from them and did not hear or see it.

This post if for the Moderator since the system doesn't allow me to report myself ;)

Would this post be better in the "Off The Air" Board than here.
New England Television is rather a large segment. This is really a local Boston and Massachusetts issue but since it is about Ch. 2 in Boston it doesn't belong on the Boston radio board.

So, I am asking if it would be better to "Relocate" it to "Off The Air".

Your choice. Thanks.
