WGBX-TV Allston Boston Channels 44-1, -3, -4 are off the air for antenna TVs.

WGBH 's WGBX-TV Allston Cambridge Boston Channels 44-1, -3, -4 are off the air for viewers with antenna TV setups, at this time.

I can't figure out what you're asking, or what's happening OTA...

Whatever it is, it probably has to do with WGBH running with reduced facilities while WGBX along with WCVB, WBZ-TV, and WSBK are using the WGBH main antenna, while that top master is down and being rebuilt.

So it was wcvb&wbz who had the damage? I thought is all started at wgbh and took 4,5,38 with them?? ???

There are two identical stacked antennas. The top antenna was used by WGBX, WCVB, WBZ-TV, and WSBK. The bottom antenna was/is used by WGBH and formerly the analog signal of WGBX-TV.

The top antenna experienced the catastrophic failure, is down and being repaired. Due to the spacing of WGBH and WCVB (RF channels 19 and 20 respectively) the top antenna tenants are now using the bottom antenna, and WGBH is using the WCVB backup lower down on the tower.

WGBH-TV is using a temporarily rigged UHF antenna on the top tower section now. They only go to the WCVB standby antenna when workers are on the tower in that area. There are two UHF temp antennas on the tower section, one for one combiner (which ironically is just WGBH) and one for the other four station combiner. I believe they use the WGBH lower half when workers are not on the tower, and the lower of the two rigged temp antennas when workers are on it. WGBH uses the upper rigged antenna then switches to the WCVB antenna when workers are there.
