WGCL bribing teenage girls into watching the news

http://www.cbsatlanta.com/news/21674941/detail.html

WGCL continues to sink to new lows. Apparently, they are using the new "Twilight" movie to turn teenagers and 20-somethings into news viewers. Today, they are running a contest throughout the entire newscast (all 60 minutes) giving away stuff from the movie (shirts, games, etc.). Last week, they managed to get some of the stars who were in town for an appearance to do an interview (live from the Mall of Georgia) during the 4 PM newscast.

WGCL would be better off with a test pattern at 4, 6, and 11. Yes, they need to get younger viewers. But I don't think bribery is the ticket.

They're targeting females 18-49. Grown women love this Twilight garbage as well.

I remember when it seemed like every teenage boy
in Atlanta was watching 11 Alive News just to see
Gail Janus (notice my knowledge of Atlanta television
since the '70s, aside from the network switches, is
somewhat limited). Maybe what 46 needs is a weatherguy
who looks like George Clooney...or Johnny Depp...or Hugh
Grant (or would that run off the men who watch Dagmar?) ;D
